Unbridled

Bend me. Break me.

Spin me tight and don’t let

go. Eat me as I exhale in the night.

Hold me. Grab me. Grab me right below

the ribs. Lift me up onto your longing

and feast. Devour me. Deliver me, fast

and arched and full, tear me from

this leather in your hands. Take me.

Surge and crest and drink – oh, drink! My

thighs like woven ropes around your

waist. Pulling, pulsing, striding deeper

into the dark as we break and break

again in salt-fed shadow. Come now,

Stallion, bare me your teeth. Bare me

your hunger as I bare you my body

and trace these words into your neck.

Show me. Treat me to the animal

under the skin. Remind me again

of what I’ve tamed.
